A new name has been added to the Electric Scooter market in India, Velocifero Tennis (VLF Tennis), which has been priced at a starting price of ₹ 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Italian two-wheeler brand Velocifero has entered India through KAW Veloce Motors, and now the brand will make names like VLF and Brixton available across the country through MotoHaus outlets.

Manufacture and availability

The Velocifero Tennis will be assembled in India at KAW Veloce Motors' plant in Kolhapur, which has a capacity to produce 20,000 units annually. Deliveries have begun on November 25, and the company aims to open outlets in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. It will be made available in key cities like Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Goa, Chennai, Jaipur and Ahmedabad soon. By 2025, the company aims to open 20 dealerships.

Specifications and Features

The Velocifero Tennis weighs just 88 kg and rides on 12-inch wheels. It has a ground clearance of 140 mm with an aluminium swing arm and a seat height of 780 mm. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks and cantilevered monoshock, and both wheels get disc brakes. Due to its compact design, its underseat storage can only accommodate a half-face helmet.

Battery and Range

The Velocifero Tennis has a 2.5 kWh removable battery, which according to the company offers a range of up to 130 km. It has a 1.5 kW hub motor, which is capable of taking the scooter to a top speed of 65 km/h. It has a gradeability of 18 degrees, and its operating temperature range is between -5°C to 45°C.

Charging and other features

The company provides a 720-watt charger with this scooter, which can fully charge it in about three hours. It also has LED lights and a 5-inch colorful TFT dashboard, which makes the scooter more attractive.

Competition

The Velocifero Tennis is priced at ₹ 1.30 lakh, making it more expensive than leading electric scooters like the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Vida V1 and the Ather Rizta, which have higher battery capacities.
