The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) is gearing up to begin construction on the much-awaited 11.56 km Metro link between Botanical Garden station and Sector 142 Metro station. The project is expected to commence within three months, pending the central government's final approval of the funding pattern and Detailed Project Report (DPR).
This new link will significantly enhance connectivity by bridging the gap between the Delhi Metro's Blue Line and Noida Metro's Aqua Line. Commuters will benefit from a seamless transit experience between Greater Noida, Noida, and Delhi, reducing travel time and bringing Metro connectivity closer to the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar.
The NMRC has prioritized this project, already conducting topography surveys and soil testing to finalize the route alignment. The survey includes analyzing obstacles such as buildings and markets along the route. The project has an estimated budget of ₹2,254.35 crore and will feature eight new stations, including Sector 44, Sector 97, and Panchsheel Balak Inter College in Sector 91.
Once completed, this link will directly connect Greater Noida with Delhi Metro's Magenta Line, which serves Indira Gandhi International Airport, and the Blue Line, enhancing transit options for commuters. The Botanical Garden station will continue to serve as a critical interchange point, offering connectivity to the NCR's key Metro lines.
Additionally, NMRC is constructing a bus terminal at Botanical Garden to facilitate seamless integration of Metro and bus services, further improving public transport options in the region. With this project, NMRC is set to revolutionize mobility, driving economic growth and connectivity in Noida and Greater Noida.
