In the aftermath of the horrific Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 civilians dead, authorities in Kashmir have launched an extensive crackdown on terrorists and their supporters. Officials confirmed that security forces have demolished militant hideouts, raided safe houses, and detained hundreds of suspected overground workers for interrogation.

The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) issued an advisory directing media outlets to refrain from live coverage of defence operations to maintain operational secrecy.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has proposed a "neutral investigation" into the attack, even as India holds Islamabad responsible for fostering cross-border terrorism, an accusation Pakistan denies.

Questions are also being raised domestically after it emerged that the Baisaran meadow, where the massacre occurred, had been operating without police security clearance, a practice allegedly long accepted despite the region's sensitivity. The situation remains tense as security operations intensify.
