In a thrilling finale at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium on March 15, 2025, the Mumbai Indians (MI) clinched their second Women's Premier League (WPL) title by edging out the Delhi Capitals (DC) by eight runs.

Opting to bat first, MI posted a competitive total of 149/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur led from the front with a scintillating 66 off 44 balls, anchoring the innings after early setbacks.

Nat Sciver-Brunt also made a vital contribution, scoring 35 runs. For DC, Marizanne Kapp was the standout bowler, delivering an economical spell with figures of 2/11 in her four overs.

Chasing 150, DC faced early hurdles but showed resilience. Captain Meg Lanning top-scored with 34 runs, while Jemimah Rodrigues added a quick 30. Despite their efforts, DC fell short, managing 141/9 in their 20 overs. MI's bowlers, led by Amelia Kerr and Pooja Vastrakar, who each took two wickets, applied consistent pressure to derail the chase.
