Rajesh Kumar, popularly known as Rosesh from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, transitioned from acting to organic farming but faced significant financial setbacks. His passion for chemical-free farming led him to invest heavily in the venture, but he incurred losses of around ₹2.5 to ₹3 crore. Despite his dedication, he struggled with the business side of farming, particularly in understanding investor jargon like 'bootstrapped' and 'burn rate.'
Hoping to secure funding and support, Rajesh applied for Shark Tank India but was rejected after making it through two rounds. He expressed disappointment over not getting a chance to present his venture, stating that investors prioritize numbers over genuine effort and passion. He revealed that his business had reached a breakeven point but started failing due to tech-related challenges, including being scammed by an app developer.
Rajesh indirectly addressed Shark Tank investor Anupam Mittal, CEO of Shaadi.com, saying, "You have made a lot of money; at least sit with me." He criticized the corporate world for focusing only on profit rather than supporting sustainable ventures. His journey sheds light on the harsh realities of entrepreneurship, where passion alone is not enough without financial backing and business acumen.
