Kamlesh Kamtekar, a graphic designer with 14 years of experience, turned to driving an auto rickshaw after losing his job due to company cost-cutting. Kamtekar, previously working as an Assistant Creative Manager shared his struggles on LinkedIn, explaining that despite five months of job hunting. He was unable to secure new employment. Despite numerous job applications, networking with friends, and applying through LinkedIn.
He faced constant rejections, often due to companies not having roles that matched his experience or offering inadequate salaries.
After receiving feedback like “We don’t have the budget for your current role” and “Can you work for a lower salary?”, Kamtekar decided to take a different approach. Rather than continue his job search, he considered starting his own business. However, he ultimately chose to leave his graphic design career behind and drive an auto rickshaw to earn money, saying goodbye to his design skills and embarking on a new venture.
His LinkedIn post resonated with many netizens, who praised his courage and determination. One user commented on his perseverance, highlighting how stepping out of a comfort zone takes real courage. Others offered support, expressing confidence that his skills would eventually be recognized, and some wished him success in his new endeavor. Despite the challenges, Kamtekar’s story is seen as an inspiring example of resilience and adaptability in the face of adversity.
