Eid ul-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, will be celebrated by Muslims globally in June 2025, based on the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent moon. This festival honors Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. It is marked by prayers, sacrifice of animals, and acts of charity.
Muslims in Saudi Arabia, UAE, UK, US, and France will observe the crescent moon on May 27, 2025. If sighted, Eid will fall on June 06; otherwise, it will be observed on June 07. South Asian countries will sight the moon a day later, potentially celebrating Eid on June 07 or 08.
The day includes qurbani (animal sacrifice), sharing meat with the needy, and preparing festive dishes like biryani and sheer khurma. The festival reinforces faith, gratitude, unity, and compassion, making it a spiritually and socially enriching event for Muslims worldwide.
