Veteran actress Neena Gupta, currently promoting Panchayat Season 4 on Prime Video, has been drawing attention not only for her work but also for her personal journey.
Her past relationship with West Indies cricket legend Vivian Richards remains a topic of public interest. In her autobiography Sach Kahun Toh, Neena candidly discusses the highs and lows of that unconventional romance.
She first met Richards at a dinner hosted by the Maharani of Jaipur, a day after watching him play. Though they initially lost touch, a chance meeting at Delhi airport rekindled their connection.
Neena later became pregnant and, despite societal criticism, chose to embrace motherhood. With Richards' support, she gave birth to daughter Masaba in 1989 and raised her as a single mother.
Masaba has grown into a successful fashion designer and actress, and Neena recently welcomed her granddaughter, Matara. Playfully, she prefers to be called "Neena" instead of "Naani."
