Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced a two-day visit to Gujarat on May 26, 2025, marking his first trip to the state following Operation Sindoor. During this visit, he inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects totaling ₹82,000 crore. Following are the highlights of his visit:

Inauguration of Locomotive Manufacturing Plant in Dahod: PM Modi inaugurated India's first 9,000 horsepower electric locomotive manufacturing plant in Dahod. This facility, established under the 'Make in India' initiative, aims to enhance freight capacity and energy efficiency in the rail sector.

Flagging Off Vande Bharat Express Trains: The Prime Minister flagged off the Somnath–Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express and a new express train between Valsad and Dahod, aiming to improve connectivity and reduce travel time.

Development Projects in Dahod and Bhuj: In Dahod, PM Modi dedicated and laid the foundation for various projects worth over ₹24,000 crore, including railway and government initiatives. In Bhuj, he inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects exceeding ₹53,400 crore, encompassing transmission infrastructure, renewable energy parks, and thermal power plants.

Public Engagements and Roadshows: The visit featured public functions and roadshows in cities like Vadodara, Bhuj, and Ahmedabad, with enthusiastic participation from the public. In Vadodara, crowds showered flower petals on the Prime Minister's convoy, demonstrating widespread support.
