After a decade-long break, Delhi’s iconic Purana Qila boat ride is back! Stalled in 2016 due to an agreement lapse between Delhi Tourism and ASI, the boating service has resumed on a trial basis.
Visitors can now enjoy 20–25-minute paddle boat rides on the scenic moat for just ₹125–₹150. With improved infrastructure, including a ticket counter, toilets, and a new cafeteria, the experience promises modern comfort blended with historical charm.
The revival was made possible by the Sabhyata Foundation, acting as a ‘Monument Mitra’ under ASI’s “Adopt a Heritage” scheme.
Safety measures are in place, with life jackets, trained lifeguards, and licensed operations. A full-scale launch with 20–25 boats is expected in September.
Earlier, the lake attracted over 2,000 weekend visitors before the water dried up. Now, with the lake revived, history and leisure meet again at the heart of Delhi.
