ChatGPT just got costlier in India—check the shocking new prices!

OpenAI has quietly increased the prices of its ChatGPT Plus and Pro plans in India, and users will now have to pay around 14% more than before. Earlier, these subscriptions were priced in US dollars—Plus at $20 (about ₹1,750) and Pro at $200 (about ₹17,500). But with the introduction of Rupee-based payments, the new rates have become costlier for Indian users.

For example, the ChatGPT Plus plan, which cost around ₹1,750 earlier, now goes above ₹2,000. Similarly, the Pro plan has also seen a big jump. While this shift makes payments easier and more convenient in India, many users feel the higher price may stop new subscribers from upgrading.

Globally, ChatGPT has already earned $2 billion since its launch in May 2023, showing its growing popularity. But this price hike is a reminder that AI is no longer just free or experimental—it’s becoming a premium digital service.
