Nearly three months after actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed during a shocking burglary attempt, Mumbai Police have filed a massive 1000-page chargesheet against accused Shariful Islam. The report includes forensic evidence linking three knife fragments from the crime scene, Saif's wounds, and the accused all matching. Over 70 witnesses, including Saif, Kareena Kapoor, and domestic staff, have recorded statements.

Details in the chargesheet reveal the accused climbed to the 8th floor via a duct after failing to breach the building's fingerprint-locked gate. Armed with a knife, hacksaw blade, and hammer, Shariful attacked the caretaker and demanded ₹1 crore. Saif intervened and was stabbed before the intruder fled in panic, unaware of Saif's identity.

After changing clothes and disposing of evidence, the accused wandered Mumbai before returning to Worli. Forensic fingerprint matches confirmed his movements. Saif, post-surgery, has resumed work but has increased home security, especially for sons Taimur and Jeh.
