Rajasthan Royals (RR) have announced the replacement of Nitish Rana for the remainder of IPL 2025 due to his injury.

Lhuan-dre Pretorius, the South African uncapped star, will join RR for his base price of Rs 30 lakh. Pretorius gained attention for his impressive power-hitting during the recent SA20, where he played 33 T20 matches, scoring 911 runs with a highest score of 97.

He was dismissed for 97 on his debut match for Paarl Royals in the SA20.

RR's stand-in captain, Riyan Parag, had previously confirmed that Nitish Rana would be sidelined due to injury. Pretorius will now be a part of the Rajasthan squad as they head into their remaining matches against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), with RR already out of the playoff race.

Rana had scored 217 runs in IPL 2025 at a strike rate of 161.94, with a top score of 81.
