Scored in negative? That's enough to get admission in Hansraj Now!

In a shocking twist, Delhi University's official PG admissions list shows a student securing admission to Hans Raj College's M.Sc. Chemistry program with a score of -3 under the C2 SC category (Source: DU PG Allocation List 2025-26). This unprecedented allocation has sparked widespread debate on social media and in academic circles.

The score, derived from the CUET-PG entrance exam, is believed to be a result of normalization algorithms that adjust for varying difficulty levels across exam shifts. Experts speculate that either low application volume, seat vacancy, or anomalies in scoring might have led to the seat being allotted despite a negative score.

While some hail it as an example of the reservation system addressing inequity, others fear it may compromise academic rigor, especially in technical fields like Chemistry.

The University of Delhi has yet to issue an official clarification. But one thing is certain - this incident exposes a transparency gap in the CUET-based allocation process that demands immediate attention.
