When 15-year-old Kripali Sunil from Payyannur saw her mother struggle with severe back pain while lifting heavy objects, she turned concern into innovation.
A Class 10 student at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kripali designed a portable elevating device to ease daily tasks-an idea born out of love that soon gained national attention.
Her project was selected for the 11th INSPIRE MANAK Exhibition, through which she earned a prestigious spot in Japan's Sakura Science High School Programme held from June 15 to 21. Organised by the Japan Science and Technology Agency, the event brought together budding innovators from across the world.
Kripali was the only Kendriya Vidyalaya student among the 54-member Indian delegation. Her heartfelt story and practical invention received loud applause, making her parents-P. Sunil Kumar and Dhanya Narayan-proud. Her journey is a perfect blend of empathy, innovation, and inspiration.
