Recent developments in Haryana politics have sparked speculation as two Congress MLAs, Shalley Chaudhary (Naraingarh) and Gokul Setia (Sirsa), publicly praised Chief Minister Saini. Their remarks, referring to him as a "hardworking CM" and a "very good CM," have raised eyebrows, with many wondering if a political realignment is on the horizon.
The praise came during Saini's “thanksgiving” tour, where he laid foundation stones for development projects and awarded financial grants across various constituencies. In Naraingarh, Chaudhary referred to Saini as the "son of Naraingarh" and commended him for addressing the region's political shortcomings while requesting additional development initiatives. The CM promptly announced 10 projects worth ₹43.28 crore, including a cooperative sugar mill, a horticulture college, and substantial funds for roads and village development.
Similarly, during Saini's visit to Sirsa, MLA Gokul Setia expressed admiration for the CM, recounting a personal incident where Saini stopped his car to greet him despite protocol restrictions. Setia's remarks highlighted the CM's accessibility and commitment to equitable development across the state.
This unexpected praise from Opposition leaders has intensified rumors about Congress MLAs potentially shifting allegiance to the BJP. However, both legislators have denied any plans to jump ship. The Congress party, already grappling with internal conflicts and yet to appoint a Leader of the Opposition, faces new challenges as this praise adds to its woes.
With Haryana's political landscape evolving rapidly, these developments suggest growing cracks within the Congress camp, potentially altering the state’s political dynamics.
