In a major push for clean public transport, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday flagged off 105 new DEVI electric buses from the newly constructed Narela bus depot. Gupta, who took office earlier this year, highlighted the BJP government's swift delivery on promises, stating that the Narela depot was completed in a record 90 days.
The launch is part of the city’s broader effort to expand its fleet of electric buses and reduce pollution. Gupta emphasized that these eco-friendly DEVI buses will improve public transport access, especially in the outer zones of the city like Narela, where connectivity has historically been poor.
"This is not just a bus launch, it's a step toward a cleaner, greener, and more efficient Delhi," Gupta said. She also mentioned that the rapid completion of the depot is a testament to the BJP government’s focus on timely infrastructure delivery.
The CM concluded the event by reaffirming her administration's dedication to improving last-mile connectivity and cutting carbon emissions.
