In a quiet village of Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi district, the life of factory worker Mangal Prasad took a dramatic turn - all thanks to Dream11.
Mangal, who hails from Ghasi Ram Purwa village and works at a plyboard factory in Hapur, had been playing fantasy cricket for months. On April 29, during the Punjab Kings vs Chennai Super Kings match, he finally hit the jackpot - winning a staggering ₹4 crore by investing just ₹39.
The win sent shockwaves through the village. Locals rushed to congratulate him, and the celebration turned his home into a festive hub. His story quickly went viral on social media, capturing hearts and headlines across the country.
However, due to a 30% tax deduction, Mangal will take home ₹2.8 crore. Still, it's a life-changing amount for someone who had been trying his luck regularly since March, mostly entering contests with ₹49.
Mangal's father, Sukhlal Saroj, is a farmer. The family has always lived modestly, but now their dreams suddenly seem within reach. For Mangal, it's not just about the money - it's about hope and patience finally paying off.
Interestingly, he joins a growing list of Dream11 winners from rural India, including a village head and a watchman from Haryana.
From a factory floor to fortune, Mangal's story is proof that sometimes, one small bet can rewrite your destiny.
