Indian cricket 2025 schedule includes Champions Trophy, England tour, and more

After a tumultuous 2024, the Indian men's cricket team faces a crucial 2025, starting with a must-win clash in Australia to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) and secure a spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) final.

The year promises to be action-packed, with the 2025 Champions Trophy as the highlight. India will also tour England for a marquee five-match Test series, while hosting the Asia Cup and hoping to clinch the continental T20I title for the first time since 2016.

In terms of fixtures, India will play 10-11 Test matches, 15-17 ODIs, and 20-24 T20Is. The schedule includes the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in January, a tour of India by England for 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs in January-February, and the Champions Trophy in the UAE from February 19 to March 9.

India will also aim to qualify for the WTC Final at Lord's in June if they make the cut. The Pataudi Trophy in England follows in June-August, comprising 5 Tests. India’s Asia Cup campaign will take place in September, with a 6-team T20I tournament, before hosting West Indies in October for 2 Tests and later touring Australia for ODIs and T20Is.

The year concludes with South Africa’s visit in November-December for a series across all formats. 2025 will be pivotal for the team, with the future of senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli uncertain.

A leadership transition may occur, with new captains possibly appointed after the Champions Trophy. Meanwhile, players like Gautam Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav will focus on preparing for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
