What if your safety during a ride was just one scan away? That’s exactly what a young engineering student has made possible in Andhra Pradesh.
A student named G Srinivas Reddy developed a QR code-based safety system that is now being used by the police in the NTR district. The idea is simple but powerful.
Inside vehicles like autos, taxis, or cabs, a QR code is placed behind the driver’s seat. As soon as a passenger scans it, they instantly get verified details of the driver, vehicle, and trip. But the real impact goes beyond that.
The moment the QR is scanned, the passenger’s live location is shared with the police control room and nearby patrol units. This turns every ride into a monitored journey, making it safer-especially during emergencies.
Passengers can also raise alerts if they feel unsafe, helping authorities respond faster.
This innovation shows how a simple idea can solve a real problem. It’s not just technology-it’s a step toward smarter, safer travel for everyone.
