India women secured a thrilling four-wicket victory over England women in the first ODI at Southampton's Rose Bowl on July 16, completing their second-highest successful run chase in ODI history.

After winning the toss, England posted 258 runs with Sophia Dunkley's impressive 83 leading the charge, supported by Alice Davidson-Richards' 53. The hosts struggled early as openers Tammy Beaumont (5) and Amy Jones (1) fell cheaply, though captain Nat Sciver-Brunt contributed 41.

India's chase was anchored by all-rounder Deepti Sharma, who scored a crucial 62 in 64 balls. Contributions from Pratika Rawal (36), Jemimah Rodrigues (48), and others helped India reach the target in 48.2 overs, marking their highest successful ODI chase on English soil.
