As the festive season approaches, Indian Railways is stepping up efforts to ease travel pressures by introducing 150 festive special trains beginning September 1, 2025. This surge in capacity is especially tailored to manage the heavy movement toward Bihar a key destination during holidays and festivals.

In a significant enhancement of regional connectivity, the East Central Railway zone alone has added 14 special trains, which will deliver an impressive 588 trips to critical urban centers, including Patna and its surrounding areas.

These new services reflect a broader push to accommodate the festive travel surge across India, offering much-needed relief to millions making this peak journey . By expanding train availability and frequency, the Railways is delivering better access, reduced congestion, and improved convenience for passengers especially those traveling to and from important pilgrimage, family, and festive hubs.

With reservations underway, passengers are encouraged to book early to secure travel plans. The expanded network marks an operational stride to ensure smoother, safer, and more connected festive travels in 2025.
