In a major policy shift, the UAE has launched a pilot program that allows Indian and Bangladeshi nationals to apply for the Golden Visa without owning property or a business license. Instead, applicants can pay a one-time fee of AED 100,000 (approx. ₹23.3 lakh) to receive the prestigious long-term residency.
Previously, the Golden Visa required investments of at least AED 2 million, but under this new initiative, the process has been simplified. Applicants undergo background and financial checks by UAE’s Rayad Group and are selected based on their potential contribution to the Emirates. Eligible candidates include professionals from healthcare, education, science, arts, e-sports, and other emerging sectors.
The visa offers lifetime residency and includes benefits like the ability to sponsor family members (including adult children and elderly parents) and domestic staff. Over 5,000 Indians are expected to apply in the first three months.
This move is part of the UAE’s broader plan to attract global talent and deepen economic ties with India post-CEPA.
