Iran issues cryptic 'We are ready' warning as tensions with US rise

The Islamic Republic of Iran issued a cryptic “We are Ready” post on X, escalating tensions as reports indicate the United States is prepared to back an Israeli military operation against Iran. The statement follows stalled nuclear talks, with US officials anticipating potential Iranian retaliatory strikes on American targets in Iraq. On June 11, 2025, the US State Department ordered non-emergency personnel to leave Iraq, citing “heightened regional tensions,” according to CBS News. Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh warned that any attack would prompt strikes on US bases in the region, signaling a readiness for conflict.

The provocative post by Iran, led by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, aligns with intelligence suggesting Israel’s preparedness to target Iranian nuclear facilities. As the US reduces its Middle East presence, including in Bahrain and Kuwait, the region braces for potential escalation. The cryptic message and military posturing raise fears of a broader conflict, with global implications looming.
