Digital job opportunities in India are booming—but so are online hiring scams. Fraudsters are increasingly duping candidates with fake offers, causing financial loss and emotional stress. To tackle this, LinkedIn has launched a suite of verification features aimed at making professional interactions safer and more trustworthy.
Now, jobseekers can benefit from three key updates: expanded company page verification, allowing even small enterprises to authenticate their presence; recruiter workplace verification, ensuring those with recruiter titles are legitimate; and executive job title verification, protecting leadership positions from impersonation.
Alongside this, LinkedIn provides safety tools like verification badges on job postings, automated message warnings, and filters to view only verified companies and recruiters. Device-based login via passkeys and two-step verification add extra protection for accounts.
Experts stress that technology alone isn’t enough—vigilance is key. Candidates should never share bank details before onboarding, avoid suspicious requests, and regularly update security settings. With scams on the rise, adopting these tools can mean the difference between a safe career move and a costly mistake.
