In the lead-up to the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed strong confidence in her party's prospects. Addressing Trinamool Congress (TMC) legislators, Banerjee emphasized that the Congress party lacks the influence to challenge TMC's dominance in the state. She stated, "Here in West Bengal, Congress is not a factor... We will fight alone in the coming Assembly election and we will win more than two-thirds seats."
The TMC's confidence is further bolstered by its historical electoral successes and Banerjee's leadership. However, the political landscape remains dynamic, with opposition parties continually strategizing to make inroads. As the 2026 elections approach, all eyes will be on West Bengal to see if TMC can sustain its momentum against emerging challenges.
