A devastating explosion rocked Putra Heights in Selangor, Malaysia, on Tuesday after a fire erupted inside a gas pipeline. The inferno, visible from miles away, forced authorities to evacuate nearby residential areas.

The blaze ignited near a gas station, with videos of the gigantic fireball quickly going viral. Officials confirmed that a ruptured Petronas gas pipeline was the cause. Dozens of firefighters were deployed to battle the flames, with hazardous materials teams on-site.

Authorities have not yet confirmed casualties, but several victims with burn injuries were treated at a temporary relief center. Meanwhile, emergency teams shut off the pipeline and are working to exhaust the remaining fuel to prevent further explosions.
