Meta has taken a bold step into the future of AI hardware by acquiring Limitless, a rising AI-wearables startup known for its pendant-style device that records and transcribes real-world conversations. The move strengthens Meta’s push to build AI-enabled wearables that bring what it calls personal superintelligence to everyday users.
Limitless CEO Dan Siroker announced that the team is joining Meta to advance this shared vision. Although financial details were not disclosed, the company confirmed it will stop selling new devices, while existing users will remain supported under updated privacy terms.
The acquisition comes just days after Meta hired Alan Dye, Apple’s long-time design leader, signalling a stronger focus on next-generation consumer hardware. Meta already partners with EssilorLuxottica-maker of Ray-Ban and Oakley—on its smart glasses.
Limitless, formerly known as Rewind, has raised $33 million from investors including Sam Altman and a16z. Its technology can record conversations, create searchable transcripts, and enhance daily productivity, making it one of the most talked-about AI assistants in the wearable tech space.
With this acquisition, Meta is clearly building a powerful ecosystem of AI-driven wearables set to reshape how people interact with technology.
