A strange discovery on Google satellite images has caused a stir on social media, with users noticing the words "help" and "traffico" written in the ashes of wildfires in a Los Angeles area near a shipping port. The images have sparked a range of theories, from a prank to a possible plea for help from a human trafficking victim.
Other words like "LAPD," "Federal," and "Traffico" were also seen in the debris, leaving both authorities and social media users puzzled. While officials have not yet made any statements, users quickly shared their suspicions.
"This disturbing message was found on Google Maps in Los Angeles, California, with 'Help' and 'Traffico' written in the debris near shipping containers," a user posted on X. "The adjacent lot is a shipping yard, which has led many to fear a connection to human trafficking."
The discovery comes as Los Angeles County teams continue to battle the aftermath of wildfires that ravaged the region earlier this month. The Palisades Fire, the largest of the blazes, is 90% contained, while the Eaton Fire is 98% contained. The Hughes Fire, ignited north of Los Angeles last week, is 95% contained.
Crews have spent the past week clearing vegetation and reinforcing infrastructure in areas devastated by the fires, which erupted on January 7 amid strong winds. The Palisades Fire destroyed thousands of homes and claimed at least 11 lives, while the Eaton Fire, near Altadena, killed at least 16 people.
