Naseeruddin Shah backs Diljit amid backlash over Hania Aamir casting!

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah has voiced his support for Diljit Dosanjh, who has come under fire for featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. In a sharply-worded comment, Shah stated, "I stand firmly with Diljit… his mind is not poisoned", highlighting that the decision rested with the director, not Diljit himself.

Shah criticized the "dirty tricks deptt of Jumla Party" aiming to attack Diljit, and emphasized the absurdity of isolating artists across borders, noting his own ties in Pakistan: "I have close relatives and some dear friends there and no one can stop me from meeting them or sending them love whenever I feel like it."

He further dismissed calls to shun cross-border cultural exchange, responding to naysayers with a pointed, "GO TO KAILASA." Diljit has defended his role, noting the film was shot before regional tensions escalated, and that the overseas release was a practical choice amid mounting controversy.

Shah’s intervention adds a powerful voice in support of artistic freedom and cross-border cultural ties.
