India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed former U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan, describing it as a “viable pathway” toward resolving the Gaza war. Modi’s support underscores India’s endorsement of diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the conflict between Israel and Hamas militants.
The core of the proposal calls for an immediate ceasefire, a freeze in battle lines, and the return of all hostages - living or deceased - within 72 hours of a mutual agreement. Hamas would have to disarm, while Gaza would move under a technocratic interim governance overseen by an international “Board of Peace.”
Modi’s response comes as several Arab and Muslim nations also voiced support for the plan, expressing hope that it could restore stability in the Middle East. Nevertheless, its success hinges critically on Hamas’s willingness to accept the terms, which include relinquishing military control and authority in Gaza.
