Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 2 inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for ₹58,000 crore worth of projects in Andhra Pradesh, including the long-awaited revival of Amaravati, the state's greenfield capital city. The event marked the launch of 94 major projects, with 74 dedicated to Amaravati’s core infrastructure, including the Assembly, High Court, Secretariat, housing complexes, and a state-of-the-art transport network. Originally envisioned by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Amaravati's development had stalled under subsequent administrations but is now regaining momentum. Real estate experts predict a 15–20% surge in land prices over six months, driven by renewed investor confidence and government-backed incentives.
The revival is expected to catalyze growth in the Krishna and Guntur districts, prime locations for future development. With a ₹64,910 crore roadmap and substantial central and international funding, Amaravati is poised to become a sustainable, world-class capital city, rekindling hopes of transforming Andhra Pradesh's urban landscape.
