In a deeply disturbing incident that has outraged the public, a man from India has been arrested for torturing his wife after accusing her of having an affair. The accused allegedly inserted chilli powder into her private parts and burned her with a hot iron, causing severe physical and emotional trauma.

According to police reports, the woman was subjected to repeated acts of cruelty and was too terrified to speak out earlier. The abuse came to light when she was hospitalised due to the severity of her injuries, prompting an immediate investigation and arrest of the husband.

This heinous act has reignited urgent calls for stronger laws and faster justice in domestic abuse cases. Women's rights activists and citizens across the country are demanding that such perpetrators face the harshest penalties under the law.

The case serves as a brutal reminder of the rampant gender-based violence many women still face behind closed doors, and the critical need for sustained legal, social, and institutional reform.
