Fashion brand NEWME is changing how Gen Z shops while watching content online. The brand partnered with MTV Splitsvilla to introduce a new feature called “Shop The Look”, allowing viewers to buy outfits directly while watching the show.
The feature works inside the streaming platform itself. Whenever contestants appear wearing trendy outfits, viewers can instantly tap and shop similar looks without pausing the episode or leaving the app. The idea is built around Gen Z’s habit of discovering fashion through entertainment, influencers, and social media instead of traditional shopping methods.
NEWME, known for its Gen Z-focused fashion and fast-moving trend collections, returned as the official fashion sponsor for the latest season of Splitsvilla. But this time, instead of simple branding, the company focused on making fashion instantly accessible the moment viewers feel inspired by a look on screen.
The collaboration is also being seen as a major shift in content-driven shopping in India, where streaming platforms are slowly turning into digital shopping spaces. Since reality shows strongly influence youth fashion trends, brands now want audiences to move from simply “watching” to “buying” within seconds.
The concept highlights how entertainment, social media, and e-commerce are increasingly blending together to shape the future of Gen Z shopping experiences.
