TATA AutoComp and Skoda Group announced a joint venture Wednesday to manufacture railway propulsion systems and components in India, involving a multi-million euro investment. The partnership targets India's growing railway and mobility markets, combining TATA AutoComp's electric vehicle expertise with Skoda Group's European public transport manufacturing leadership.

The new company will produce converters, drives, and auxiliary converters for medium high-speed trains, regional trains, metros, and light rail vehicles. Manufacturing operations will be India-based, aiming to deliver sustainable mobility solutions at affordable costs for domestic rolling stock.

TATA AutoComp Vice-Chairman Arvind Goel emphasized the collaboration's role in enhancing their railway and metro sector footprint through advanced electrical propulsion systems.
