Tim Cook Shares How Apple Watch Saved His Dad and Ruined His Door!

Apple CEO Tim Cook recently shared an emotional yet unexpectedly humorous story about how the Apple Watch saved his father's life. Speaking on the Table Manners podcast with Jessie and Lennie Ware, Cook was asked if he'd ever personally received a health alert from his Apple Watch. While he hadn't, his late father had a remarkable experience that underscored the device's life-saving potential.

Cook explained that his father, living alone at the time, suffered a fall at home. The Apple Watch's fall detection feature automatically alerted emergency services. When paramedics arrived and couldn't get a response at the door, they didn't hesitate—they broke it down. “It was a good thing they did,” Cook said, revealing that his father had been unconscious and urgently needed help.

However, in true dad fashion, his father's reaction wasn't what you'd expect. When asked if he was proud of his son for creating technology that saved his life, Cook laughed. “No, he was more focused on the door, to be honest. He was upset they kicked it in!”

Cook’s tale adds to the growing list of real-life accounts where this innovative device has saved lives, making it much more than just a gadget!
