History often remembers certain days as turning points — and 25 September is one such date that left lasting imprints both in India and the world.
In India, the day marks the birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyaya (1916), one of the most influential political thinkers and leaders of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the predecessor of today’s BJP. His philosophy of Integral Humanism emphasized self-reliance, decentralization, and the blending of tradition with modernity. This vision continues to shape India’s political and economic policies, especially in debates about development and cultural identity.
Globally, on 25 September 1789, the U.S. Congress approved the Bill of Rights, a set of 10 amendments to the U.S. Constitution that guaranteed fundamental freedoms like speech, religion, and press. These rights later became the foundation for democratic governance worldwide, influencing countless constitutions, including India’s.
Thus, 25 September is not just a date on the calendar but a reminder of how ideas and actions taken on a single day can inspire movements, redefine nations, and alter the course of history.
