Taking care of your skin doesn't have to be overwhelming. Dermatologist Dr. Shilpi Khetarpal recommends a straightforward routine tailored to your skin type and needs, with steps that protect in the morning and repair overnight.

 

Morning Routine:
Start with a gentle, non-medicated cleanser to refresh your skin without stripping it of moisture. Follow with an antioxidant serum or cream, like vitamin C, which helps protect against environmental damage and promotes collagen production. Finish with sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to shield your skin from harmful UV rays.

 

Night Routine:
Begin by removing makeup with a makeup remover, followed by a gentle cleanser suited to your skin type. For oily or acne-prone skin, consider double cleansing. An optional toner can help remove any leftover impurities. End with a vitamin A-based cream (like retinol) to support collagen production and skin repair overnight. If needed, layer on a moisturizer containing ceramides or hyaluronic acid.

When choosing products, don't be swayed by price or labels- focus on proven ingredients like hyaluronic acid, retinol, and vitamin C. Always test new products on a small area of skin before applying them to your face to avoid irritation.
