After a lackluster theatrical run, Varun Dhawan's high-octane action thriller Baby John has now landed on Amazon Prime Video. The film, directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee, had a strong ensemble cast, including Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, and Jackie Shroff. Despite high expectations, Baby John, a remake of the Tamil hit Theri, failed to impress at the box office, grossing only ₹61 crore against a massive ₹150 crore budget.
The film follows DCP Satya Verma, who fakes his own death to protect his daughter from a ruthless politician. But when past enemies re-emerge, he must battle his demons to save his family. While critics weren't kind to the film, its OTT release might give it a second chance at success.
Varun Dhawan expressed excitement about the digital premiere, calling Baby John a challenging role and a milestone in his career. With streaming audiences now getting access to the film, will Baby John rise from the ashes and find redemption? Only time will tell.
