Hair washing isn't one-size-fits-all. People with oily hair or those using styling products daily may need to wash every 1–2 days. Those with dry, textured, or coily hair can wash once every 1–2 weeks. Daily washing isn't necessary for most, and overwashing can strip natural oils, leading to dryness or irritation.
Factors like sweat, dirt, pollution, and scalp oiliness influence how often hair needs cleansing. Shampoo choice matters too - use moisturizing options for dry hair, and deep-cleaning ones for heavy product use.
For Black or coily hair, experts recommend weekly or biweekly washes with added moisture through conditioner and hot oil treatments. Avoid tight hairstyles and use heat protectants.
Alternatives like cleansing conditioners or dry shampoo can reduce washing frequency. Listen to your hair’s needs and adjust accordingly - healthy hair starts with balanced care!
