Once dismissed as a box office failure, Sanam Teri Kasam has made an unexpected comeback following its re-release. The 2016 romantic drama, directed by Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao, initially suffered due to poor promotions, earning only ₹9.1 crore despite a ₹14 crore budget. However, thanks to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's intervention, the film's fate took a dramatic turn.

Director Vinay Sapru revealed that before the film's release, the studio failed to promote it, leaving lead actors Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane helpless. When Sapru shared his struggles with Salman Khan, the superstar immediately offered help by promoting the film on social media. Despite its lackluster first run, the film gained cult status over the years.

Its re-release on February 7 turned into a surprise success, registering the biggest weekend for a Bollywood re-release. According to Sacnilk, it earned ₹18.50 crore, more than double its original earnings. Fans who missed it in 2016 are now embracing the tragic love story on the big screen.

The film's second life proves that sometimes, a little support and perfect timing can rewrite history.
