In 2024, Zomato's delivery partners earned an average monthly income of approximately ₹28,000, as reported by CEO Deepinder Goyal. This figure accounts for an estimated ₹5,000 monthly expenditure on fuel, resulting in a net income of around ₹23,000. Goyal described this compensation as "fairly attractive vis-à-vis alternate income opportunities" available to the delivery partners. 

The data pertains to delivery partners who logged in for at least eight hours per day over 26 days each month. Notably, there has been a decline in the average number of days and hours worked by delivery partners annually, indicating a trend towards more flexible or part-time engagement. Goyal emphasized that many partners prefer part-time roles to supplement their primary income, with some working seasonally or during specific times of the day. 

Beyond competitive earnings, Zomato offers comprehensive insurance coverage to its delivery partners, encompassing accident, death, and health benefits. Over the past four years, the company has seen a significant increase in processed insurance claims, doubling to ₹53 crore per annum. In 2024, 55% of these claims were related to medical expenses not associated with accidents, underscoring the broad scope of the provided health coverage.
