At just 24, Aligarh-born Chirag Sharma turned a simple ChatGPT prompt into a high-growth D2C business. After exploring several ventures during college, he returned home in 2024 to build Wheelwash — a car and bike care brand focused on everyday vehicle maintenance.
With only ₹65,000 in savings, Chirag bootstrapped Wheelwash, investing in website design, ads and raw materials. His first and standout product was a DIY car scratch remover — designed to offer a real, long-lasting fix rather than the temporary solutions common in the market. Remarkably, Chirag wasn’t a chemist: he asked ChatGPT for the exact chemical formulation needed and used that list to source ingredients from a local manufacturer.
In the early months, he single-handedly mixed, bottled and labelled products while learning packaging and logistics on the go. Grassroots marketing — including founder-shot demo videos — helped build trust and drive sales.
Today, Wheelwash offers a range of car and bike care products, and the scratch remover alone accounts for 95 % of its revenue. After growing from a few hundred customers to over 9,000 monthly orders, the brand reached about ₹60 lakh in monthly revenue in late 2025 and now aims for ₹1 crore.
