Always tired? Doctor reveals why women feel drained!

Dr. Shaikh Mohammed Aslam outlines the multifaceted reasons behind chronic fatigue in women, emphasizing both physiological and lifestyle contributors. Frequent causes include anaemia, vitamin deficiencies (especially B12 and D), sleep disorders, stress, and hormonal fluctuations driven by menstrual cycles, pregnancy, or menopause.

According to broader expert consensus, energy may also be sapped by poor sleep hygiene, sedentary habits, dehydration, and persistent psychological stress or burnout. Moreover, nutrient gaps such as in iron, B12, or magnesium can impair blood oxygenation and metabolism, while gut health disruptions may also contribute to sustained fatigue.

In some cases, fatigue may signal deeper health concerns, including thyroid dysfunction, PCOS, or even chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) a complex condition predominantly affecting women and often overlooked in diagnosis.
