Asia Cup final clash: Can Pakistan derail India's momentum?

India enter the Asia Cup 2025 final against Pakistan as unbeaten favorites, fueled by the extraordinary form of Abhishek Sharma, who has amassed over 300 runs this tournament — the first batter to ever do so in a T20 Asia Cup edition.

Pakistan, led by Salman Agha, face a daunting task. Their hopes hinge on early breakthroughs from their pace attack and tighter control in the middle overs — while their batting must overcome its historic fragility against India.

Abhishek has already delivered back-to-back fifties against Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, combining aggression with consistency. Analysts note that if he is held cheaply, India’s middle order will be exposed.

For Pakistan, the key lies in unsettling India early — making inroads in the powerplay and keeping middle overs tight. Only if India misfires and Pakistan seizes momentum can they hope to halt India’s juggernaut.
