As the April 27 deadline expired, nearly all Pakistani citizens except those on medical, diplomatic, and long-term visas have left India, according to senior Home Ministry officials. The move comes amid escalating tensions following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack.

Meanwhile, ceasefire violations by Pakistan continue unabated along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara and Poonch districts for the fourth consecutive day. Indian forces responded swiftly to the unprovoked firing.

Adding a new twist, Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has called for an international investigation team, involving Russia, China, or Western countries, to probe the Pahalgam massacre, an idea India is unlikely to accept.

Simultaneously, demolition drives targeting terrorist hideouts in Kashmir have sparked political opposition locally, even as 10 structures were blown up in controlled operations. Residents near the LoC are being evacuated amidst continued cross-border shelling.
