Noida liquor stores are witnessing a massive rush as retailers offer 'Buy One, Get One' deals and 50% discounts ahead of Uttar Pradesh's new excise policy taking effect on April 1. Viral videos show eager buyers queuing up outside liquor shops, causing a political stir.

The new policy, approved by the Yogi Adityanath government, will replace 80% of existing liquor shop license holders via an e-lottery system. Additionally, 'composite liquor shops' will be introduced, allowing beer, liquor, and wine to be sold from a single unit.

AAP leader Atishi slammed the BJP, questioning whether investigative agencies like the ED and CBI would act against UP's government for promoting liquor sales. Meanwhile, the government has already earned ₹1,987.19 crore from over 3.65 lakh applications for liquor shop licenses.

With discounts running until March 31, liquor lovers are making the most of this rare shopping spree before the new system kicks in.
