Delhi’s air pollution remains one of the most serious health and environmental problems in the country. Every winter, the air becomes heavy with smog, and citizens face restrictions like vehicle bans, school closures, and health warnings. People are asked to do their part using public transport, switching off engines at signals, and avoiding outdoor activities. But while common people are making efforts, many political leaders and VIPs continue to move around the city in long, fuel-heavy convoys.
These convoys, often made up of several SUVs and police vehicles, release a large amount of pollution into the already toxic air. This has raised serious questions about fairness, responsibility, and real commitment to clean air. If leaders ask the public to follow pollution control rules, shouldn’t they also lead by example?
Environmental experts believe that reducing convoy sizes and shifting to electric or hybrid vehicles can set a strong message. Small steps by those in power can inspire bigger changes across society. People want to breathe clean air but change must begin at the top.
If Delhi truly wants cleaner skies, it’s time for actions to match promises. Cleaner air isn’t just a citizen’s duty it should be a shared mission, led with honesty and unity by all.
