In a major outreach effort, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is distributing special Eid gift kits to 32 lakh economically weak Muslim families across India. Named 'Saugat-e-Modi', these kits will be handed out through programs organized in collaboration with mosques, with the help of 32,000 party workers.

The initiative, led by the BJP's Minority Morcha, started in Mumbai, where 200 needy individuals in Navi Mumbai received the 'Saugat-e-Modi' kits.

A similar event took place in Delhi at Ghalib Academy, Basti Hazrat Nizamuddin, attended by BJP National General Secretary and Minority Morcha In-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam.

Each gift pack contains essential food items such as vermicelli, dates, dry fruits, sugar, along with clothing like salwar suits for women and kurta-pajamas for men. The estimated cost of each kit is between Rs 500-Rs 600.

According to sources, 100 kits will be distributed at every event, with Minority Morcha office bearers working alongside mosque committees to identify recipients.

Maulana Sajid Rashidi of the All India Imam Association praised the initiative, stating that it could help reshape the Muslim community’s perception of the BJP while moving beyond traditional politics of appeasement.
