Dr. Vanita Rahman, an internal medicine specialist, highlights that such diets, rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, can reduce migraine frequency and intensity.

These foods are low in tyramine and nitrates - common triggers found in processed meats and aged cheeses. Additionally, plant-based diets provide anti-inflammatory nutrients like magnesium and antioxidants, which support brain health. A 2021 study showed that participants on vegan diets reported fewer migraine attacks.

However, transitioning requires care to avoid deficiencies in nutrients like vitamin B12. Dr. Rahman advises consulting a nutritionist to tailor the diet. While not a cure, avoiding triggers and embracing nutrient-dense foods can make a difference.

For migraine sufferers, a plant-based approach offers a promising, natural strategy to manage symptoms effectively.
